Tom Joyner Fired After 13 Years- The Steve Harvey Morning Show Takes Over
Tom Joyner Fired? Clear Channel has dumped Tom Joyner from WVAZ-FM 102.7 after a 13-year stint on the Tom Joyner syndicated morning show, and being replaced by Steve Harvey’s “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” WGCI-FM 107.5 starting Tuesday, according to a statement published by Clear Channel Chicago.
Tom Joyner is out and Comedian Steve Harvey takes over Tom Joyner’s previous time slot. Steve Harvey will simulcast on both radio stations until March 31.
Clear Channel did not announce what its plans are after March 31 for WGCI-FM, although a Clear Channel spokeswoman said an announcement will be made within a week.
“Tom Joyner has been a great partner with V103 for the past 13 years, making it difficult to part ways,” WVAZ-FM Program Director Derrick Brown said in a statement. “We appreciate all Tom’s hard work and wish him continued success.”
